🤯 The Miami Dolphins Best Kept Secret: Why is nobody talking about this guy?!?

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Folks, hold onto your fins because the Miami Dolphins might have a new King of the Trenches!

Jaelan Phillips, the second-year outside linebacker from the University of Miami, is making waves in the NFL and folks, I'm not just talking about the ones in South Beach.

Phillips is not just one of the best up-and-coming edge rushers, he's establishing himself as an ELITE pass rusher in just his second season in the league. He tackled 61 quarterbacks, gave them 48 heart palpitations with quarterback hurries, hit 19 of 'em, sacked 7, and even forced a fumble for good measure. And let me tell you, that's not just a good catch, that's a touchdown!

Now, you might be thinking "Hold on a second, who's this Phillips guy and why should I care?" Well, let me tell you, the folks at Pro Football Focus have taken notice. Phillips' overall grade of 88.8 and pass rush grade of 90.1 are not just team highs, but they also rank him seventh in the league among edge defenders. That's right folks, above the likes of Von Miller, Hasson Reddick, and Josh Allen. And that's pretty impressive company if you ask me.

Now, it's time for Phillips to prove that he's worth the hype and become a dominant force on the field. The Dolphins haven't had a defender record double-digit sacks since Cameron Wake in 2017 and with a front seven poised to be one of the best in the AFC, 2023 could be Phillips' time to shine. So, keep an eye on number 15, folks, because he just might make a splash in the NFL this season!

Will Jaelan Phillips be a Pro-Bowler next year in Vic Fangio's system?

  • Absolutely!

  • He's gonna need a couple years in Fangio's system.

  • Don't see the talent.
